Edmonton City Council reappointed both Commissioners Irfan Chaudhry and Shazia Amiri at the September 12/13, 2023 Council meeting. They will continue to serve on the Edmonton Police Commission for the term of January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.

Chief of Police Salary
In accordance with new policy, the Edmonton Police Commission is commencing an annual process to communicate the Chief of Police’s salary. 2022: $340,000 per annum 2023: $357,000 per annum Click here for more information about the Chief’s salary.
The Government of Alberta has appointed two new commissioners to the Edmonton Police Commission. The Commission was informed of the appointments on May 1, 2023. These provincial appointees are currently undergoing the Commission’s standard onboarding process. We plan to publicly introduce the new commissioners once this process has been completed.
