Third provincial appointee

The Edmonton Police Commission welcomes Commissioner John McDougall back for another term as an appointee of the Government of Alberta.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with John for the past six years, and I have seen his thorough commitment to police governance and accountability firsthand many times. His appointment is a welcome surprise that will benefit Edmontonians for years to come.”
Erick Ambtman, Chair of the Edmonton Police Commission

Commissioner McDougall has been a long-time member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and active advocate for LBGTQ2+ rights in the community and the CAF. He is a current member of the Governance Board of March of Dimes Canada and the Strategic Leadership Council for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind Foundation.

Commissioner McDougall will serve for the term of January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026.
