The Edmonton Police Commission will present its selection for Chief of Police to City Council for ratification on September 19, 2025.
The Commission looked for the best candidate to lead the Edmonton Police Service as it continues to build on its successes, improve public safety and strengthen community connections throughout Edmonton. Once a candidate has been selected by the Commission, the Police Act requires Council to ratify the board’s choice for the next chief. A public announcement will be made following the council meeting.
If there are unforeseen delays to the process, the Commission will work with the City of Edmonton on a new date for ratification.
