The Edmonton Police Commission’s Ad Hoc Full-time Chief Hiring Committee has selected Mullen Leadership Recruitment to undertake the next stage of the hiring process.

The recruitment firm will be tasked with finding the right kind of leadership required to continue making the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) one of the best in Canada.

As part of the critical process to recruit a new Chief of Police to lead the EPS and shape its future direction, the committee has also procured Leger to conduct a public survey that will include face-to-face contact with groups that traditionally do not participate in surveys. Recognizing the importance of community input during this process, the committee will engage directly with individuals and groups across Edmonton to gather insights on the leadership qualities and priorities they value in the next Chief to capture the perspectives of a diverse cross-section of the city’s population.

This research will identify the leadership-focused strategic goals that community members believe should guide the permanent Chief’s approach, as well as the personal and professional qualities they consider most important.

The Commission plans to hire a full-time Chief by the end of 2025.
