After a month-long executive search, the application stage for the next full-time Chief of the Edmonton Police Service has closed.

The Edmonton Police Commission will work with its recruitment partner, Mullen Leadership Recruitment, to assess candidates and finalize an interview list. Interviews will be conducted by the Commission’s Hiring Committee and the Commission-of-the-Whole.

Once interviews with prospective candidates have been completed, the Commission will choose the best candidate to move forward for ratification. Under Alberta’s Police Act, Edmonton City Council ratifies the Commission’s choice for the next Chief of Police.

Ratification is anticipated to take place in September and will be followed by a public announcement by the Commission. This date is subject to change.
