ASIRT INVESTIGATES EPS OFFICER

 

The Edmonton Police Commission is aware that the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has charged a sworn EPS member on February 24, 2021.

Samuel Sanson is charged with allegedly committing a sexual assault while off duty on January 20, 2021 against an adult female acquaintance.

The Chief of Police has relieved the officer from duty without pay and the Commission will meet to review this decision as per the Police Service Regulation.

As this matter is now before the courts, the Commission will not be making any further comments.
